Lionism has been part of Gladi’s life for a number of year

Community Involvement:

Currently, Member of the Bredenbury Library Board.

Gladi is mother to 3 daughters - Michelle in Montreal, Quebec - Jaci & family in Medicine Hat, Alberta - Carrie & family in Saskatoon, Sask - . and one son Robert in Altlanta, Georgia. Grandmother to four boys and three girls. In 1994 she had gained two daughters Cheryl and husband in Prince George, BC. and Michelle in Red Deer, Alberta - and one grandson, all of whom she is most proud.

Gladi and Joe reside in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan.

District Governor Lorne Olver

Club: Kipling & District Lions Club

Born in Regina, went to Corning School & post graduate training in Moose Jaw as a Journeyman Mechanic. Started working at a John Deere dealership when he was 18 as a mechanic, became a parts man and shop foreman and later purchased the business with a partner. They decided to close the business and in 1992 became employed at Sun Country Health District and has had an opportunity to use most of his knowledge just keeping the place functioning.

Joined Kipling & District Lions Club in 1967, recently receiving his 41st perfect attendance pin. Held all club offices, Secretary and Treasurer numerous times.

Sponsored 15 new members.

Attended approx 17 fall conferences, 8 MD5 Conventions, 1 International Convention. And 1 USA Canada Forum. Has headed up many successful projects throughout the years

Lorne and wife Donna, who works as an SGI licensing issuer and insurance sales, have three children, a daughter Sheila, who is a mental health counselor, living in Kipling with her husband Darren and their two children – Cole and Rylie, Travis and partner Crystal living in Estevan with one child Ciara, and Kirk living at home, working as a draftsman at Seedhawk in Langbank.

Lorne enjoys a sideline of repairing and selling golf carts, restoration of antique tractors, and of course, has a collection of J.D. Tractors (big and small) and generally keeps very busy with multiple projects that many people have lined up for him. His 1967 Plymouth Fury Convertible and his recently acquired motor bike, a 750 Honda Shadow are a couple of reasons why he especially enjoys the summer months.

District Governor Garry Gilbertson

I was in the Canadian Army for 6 years, of which I spent 3 ½ years overseas. After discharge I apprenticed and worked as a mechanic for 37 years. My life partner Cheryl, of 29 years, and I have 4 children; Blayne, a mechanic in Moose Jaw SK, Danielle, a hostess at Topper’s Bar and Grill in Davidson SK, Kenny, a heavy equipment operator in Regina SK, and Chantel, a hostess at the Heritage Inn in Moose Jaw SK. We also have 3 grandchildren aged 9, 5, and 3.

My home club is the Craik and District Lions Club. I have been zone chairman for 2 years. I am presently chairman for Cavalcade for Diabetes. I have been club treasurer for 4 years and was also president of our club. I am now Vice District Governor Elect. I also belong to the Royal Canadian Legion.

I coached minor sports for 5 years and sat on the minor sports board. I was on the school board in Viceroy SK as well as mayor of the town of Viceroy.

I am presently semi-retired as I still repair vehicles at home part time.
